{"id":924,"date":"2025-04-16T13:20:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T13:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arth.in\/new-arth-website\/?p=924"},"modified":"2025-04-16T14:17:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T14:17:34","slug":"maternal-morbidity-its-burden-consequences-and-options-for-interventions-in-a-rural-area-in-rajasthan-2007-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.arth.in\/index.php\/2025\/04\/16\/maternal-morbidity-its-burden-consequences-and-options-for-interventions-in-a-rural-area-in-rajasthan-2007-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"Maternal morbidity, its burden, consequences and options for interventions in a rural area in Rajasthan (2007-2010)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>ARTH is conducted a study on maternal morbidity with the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To estimate the burden of maternal morbidity in a rural community of north India<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To compare sequelae (physical, social, economic and psychological) among women with a normal delivery and those having severe and less severe complications occurring around the time of delivery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To compare sequelae among women having a surviving perinate with those perinatal deaths<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To document care seeking patterns for selected maternal complications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To review the current options for interventions at primary care level for key morbidities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"134\" src=\"https:\/\/arth.in\/new-arth-website\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/maternal-morbidity-large.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-925\" style=\"width:259px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The study consisted of the following components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A prospective cohort study examining short term consequences of pregnancy related morbidity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A qualitative study examining social and economic consequences of chronic obstetric morbidity (done in 2007-08): As part of this, freelisting exercise, 81 indepth case interviews with recently delivered women , 17 key informant interviews and 24 case studies of morbidities have been completed and results have been analyzed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Process documentation of interventions at primary care level to address key morbidities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Study area: 49 villages in two blocks of Udaipur district and in one block of Rajsamand district covering a population of 54,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this, nearly 600 women were followed up at 6 weeks, 6 months and 12 months after delivery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ARTH is conducted a study on maternal morbidity with the following objectives: The study consisted of the following components: Study area: 49 villages in two blocks of Udaipur district and in one block of Rajsamand district covering a population of 54,000.
