ARTH has been working in this field through its collaboration with the state government and WHO on various research studies involving maternal and newborn survival, child nutrition and development. The service part has in the past included postnatal home visits by midwives, village volunteers and community health workers for assessing newborn health in our field area, as well as health services offered through ARTH’s health centres. A trial on newborn survival was completed for strengthening of first referral units (FRUs) on newborn care and promoting referral of sick newborns from the community to a hospital through a 24*7 helpline service. Another research project included a community-based intervention on child health, nutrition, and development involving ASHAs and Anganwadi workers. Refer the links below for ARTH’s strategic interventions affiliated with neonatal and child health: Home-Based Management of Young Infants Maternal morbidity, it’s burden, consequences, and options for interventions in a rural area in Rajasthan Newborn survival project Integrated management of childhood illness study Nutritional status of preschool children in southern Rajasthan Reproductive & child health centres Continuum of maternal-neonatal-infant care Drought relief initiative in Kadiya area Supporting NGOs for providing maternal-newborn related health services Advocacy
